Why I built TruePace Run
TruePace Run was created by Robin Langdon, an age-group endurance runner who still loves racing, even if the stopwatch has become slightly less flattering with age.
Like a lot of runners, I noticed that getting older came with a mildly annoying side effect: the same effort did not always produce the same times. Looking at old personal bests was starting to feel less like motivation and more like emotional damage.
So I built TruePace Run partly to cheer myself up, and partly to answer a fairer question:
How good was that performance for my age?
A 55-minute 10K means something different at 35, 52 and 57. Raw times still matter, but they do not tell the whole story. Age grading gives age-group runners another way to compare performances, track progress and occasionally feel better about being beaten by younger runners.
TruePace Run uses sourced age-grading data and plain-English explanations to make those comparisons easier. The site is independent and is not affiliated with parkrun, World Masters Athletics, race organisers or timing providers. Results are informational estimates, not official rankings.
What TruePace Run does
The calculator helps runners enter one race result and see an age-adjusted equivalent time. That makes it easier to compare the quality of performances across different age groups.

TruePace Run is for age-group runners, club runners, Parkrun regulars and anyone who wants more context than raw finish time alone.
Independence
TruePace Run is not an official governing body, race organiser or ranking provider. Results are informational age-graded estimates based on sourced road-running standards.
